HydraTask Privacy Policy

The short version: HydraTask stores everything on your device. We operate no servers, run no analytics, and use no third-party tracking. We collect nothing. There is nothing for us to sell, share, or lose.

What HydraTask stores, and where

Your tasks, projects, routines, focus sessions, game progress, settings, and any photos you take as proof of a finished task are stored inside the app, on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it.

What we collect

Nothing. HydraTask has no account system, no sign-in, no cloud sync, no crash reporting service, and no analytics. The app makes no network requests of its own. In App Store Connect terms, the app's privacy label is Data Not Collected, and the app ships with a privacy manifest that says the same.

Camera and photos

HydraTask asks for camera access only when you choose to attach photo proof to a task in guardian or accountability mode. Photos are taken live, stored inside the app on your device, and deleted when the task is approved or declined by the guardian. HydraTask does not access your photo library. Camera access is optional and the app works fully without it.

Backups you export

You can export an encrypted backup (an .ht3 file, protected with a passphrase you choose using PBKDF2 and AES-GCM). That file goes only where you send it — to Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, or wherever you choose. We never receive it, and we cannot recover it if you lose the passphrase.

Purchases and subscriptions

Optional seasons and the All Seasons Pass are sold through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment and manages subscriptions; HydraTask receives only an anonymous purchase receipt from Apple to unlock what you bought. We receive no personal or payment information from Apple. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.

Siri and Shortcuts

HydraTask offers Siri intents (capture a task, read Today's Hydra, open NOW) and an optional "grey mode" that runs Shortcuts you create yourself. These features run on your device through Apple's frameworks. No request content is sent to us.

Family features

Guardian mode works on a single device. The guardian PIN is stored only as a cryptographic hash on that device. There are no family accounts, no linked devices, and no remote access.

Children

HydraTask is rated 9+ and is suitable for use by children under a guardian's supervision. Because we collect no information from anyone, we collect no information from children.

Changes to this policy

If HydraTask ever adds a feature that sends data anywhere, this policy will be updated first and the change will be described plainly in the app's release notes.
